Founding Partner
Babak Bina is a founding partner of BCB3 and a seasoned entrepreneur in the hospitality industry. In 1989, he launched BiNA Family Hospitality, which today operates jm Curley, Bogie’s Place, and The Wig Shop—each a reflection of his passion for creating unique and community-driven dining experiences.
Babak’s journey began in 1979 when he was forced to immigrate to Boston following the Iranian Revolution. His first step into the culinary world came in 1981, working as a dishwasher at Pino’s a neighborhood Italian pizzeria in Brookline. Throughout high school and university in Boston, he continued to cultivate his passion for hospitality, working in various roles across the restaurant industry.
Beyond hospitality, Babak is also an accomplished residential and commercial real estate developer. He played a key role in the redevelopment of Boston’s South End in the early 1990s, working closely with Mayor Tom Menino and his administration.
A committed civic leader, Babak has served on several Boston Redevelopment Authority and Mayoral task forces, supported the arts, and contributed to various boards, including the Downtown Boston Alliance. He has also founded several nonprofit initiatives such as the South End Business Alliance, Taste of the South End, Taste of Beacon Hill, and Taste of Beacon Hill Scholarship Fund.
In 2009, Babak and his wife Coryn Bina co-founded the BINA Farm Center, a nonprofit organization that brings together individuals with and without disabilities by providing a unique therapeutic and inclusive environment through equine-assisted activities and other innovative programs.
Babak’s wide-ranging experiences and unwavering commitment to giving back have left a lasting impact on the Boston community. He and his wife live in Boston and have two adult sons.
